Available in sign languages such as American Sign Language (ASL), British Sign Language (BSL), Japanese Sign Language (JSL), and others, Signlo connects you through a social network, dating platform, peer-to- peer social activity hosting, and business services (e.g., sign language interpreters, deaf-owned businesses). Our mission is to foster a sign-language- only environmenttext or spoken language is strictly prohibited. By accessing Signlo’s services (the “App” or “Services”), you agree to these Terms of Use (“Terms”), our Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, Safety Tips, and additional terms for purchases. Account Eligibility and Responsibilities

    To use Signlo globally, you must:

  • Use sign language as your sole expression on Signlo—audio use triggers immediate suspension.
  • Be legally able to contract with Signlo, not in a U.S.-embargoed country (e.g., North Korea), or on a prohibited list (e.g., U.S. Treasury’s Specially Designated Nationals).
  • Have no felony, sex crime, or violent crime convictions unless cleared by Signlo via sign language verification.
  • Not be a registered sex offender.
  • Maintain one account only, not previously banned unless permitted by Signlo.

You Agree To

  • Use sign language for all content (e.g., profiles, messages, event posts, business listings).
  • Follow these Terms, Community Guidelines, and all applicable laws (e.g., GDPR in EU, tax laws for earnings).
  • Secure your login details and update your sign language preference as needed.

Prohibited Actions:

  • Using spoken language, or audio instead of sign language (e.g., text-only profiles, audio event invites).
  • Misrepresenting your identity, sign language fluency, or location.
  • Harassing, bullying, or harming others via sign language or actions.
  • Posting prohibited content (e.g., violence, scams—see Community Guidelines).
  • Disrupting Signlo’s global operations (e.g., hacking, spamming servers).

  • Violations revoke access, and we may suspend accounts without notice or refund.

Global Use and Features

    Signlo operates worldwide, supporting diverse sign languages tailored to regional needs (e.g., ASL in the U.S., Auslan in Australia). Features include:

  • Social Network: Share sign language video posts with global or local communities.
  • Dating: Match with others using free or premium subscriptions (see Section 4a).
  • Social Activity Hosting:Host or join peer-to-peer events (e.g., BSL storytelling nights), with payment/earning options.
  • Business Services:Offer or access services (e.g., JSL tutoring, deaf-owned crafts), with integrated payments.

  • Unlimited Location Changes: Change your location without restrictions.
  • See Who Likes You: Know who has swiped right on you before matching.
  • Super Likes: 10 Super Likes per week for higher visibility.
  • Unlimited Video Calling: Connect directly in sign language.
  • Message Before Matching: Send a personalized message, including one video message per day.
  • Read Receipts: See when your messages have been read.
  • Weekly Boost: One 24-hours boost per week, prioritized for better visibility in the algorithm.
  • Engagement Insights: View profile engagement statistics (e.g., how many people viewed your profile).

  • Subscriptions auto-renew via External Services (e.g., Apple, Google) or Internal Purchases (credit card in-app). Prices adjust by region (e.g., AUD $14.99 for Plus in Australia). Cancel via your External Service account or Signlo’s Account section

    Social Events, Businesses, and Hosting Payments and Earnings:

  • Hosting Events:Host paid events (e.g., $5 USD ASL workshop, €4 EUR deaf art class). Hosts set fees; Signlo takes a 10% commission (e.g., $1 USD per $10 ticket). Earnings paid bi-weekly via PayPal or bank transfer.
  • Thresholds:Minimum $50 USD (or equivalent: £40 GBP, ¥5,500 JPY, €45 EUR, AUD $70). Payments held until threshold met.
  • Tax Rules:Hosts report earnings per local laws (e.g., U.S. IRS Form 1099 for $600+ USD annually; UK HMRC self-assessment; Japan’s NTA income tax).
  • Business Services:Providers charge clients (e.g., $50 USD/hour ASL interpreter, ¥3,000 JPY/hour JSL tutor); Signlo deducts 10% (e.g., $5 USD). Clients pay via in-app wallet or External Services. Earnings follow the same thresholds and tax rules.
  • Verification:Hosts/providers submit a sign language video ID check. Earnings reflect local currency (e.g., CAD $40 in Canada).

  • Refunds and Global Variations:

    Purchases are final unless local law allows refunds

  • EU/EEA/UK:14-day refund post-subscription or event purchase start.
  • California:Cancel within 3 business days without penalty.

Termination

Limitation of Liability

  • Signlo is “as is.” We’re not liable for indirect damages (e.g., lost event earnings) beyond $100 USD or your last 24 months’ payments, to the extent allowed by law.

Dispute Resolution

  • Informal Resolution:Contact Signlo Customer Service (support@signlo.com) with your name, account details (e.g., email, sign language), and dispute details. Resolve within 60 days or proceed to arbitration.
  • Arbitration:Unresolved disputes go to National Arbitration and Mediation (NAM) for binding individual arbitration (no class actions). Delaware law and the Federal Arbitration Act apply, with proceedings in Delaware, unless prohibited (e.g., EU users use local courts)
  • Small Claims Option:Either party may choose small claims court instead.

Global Compliance

Signlo adheres to international laws to protect your rights:

  • EU/EEA (GDPR):Right to data portability, erasure, and objection. Example: Request your ASL profile video data export in Settings.
  • UK (UK GDPR):Same as EU, enforced by ICO. Example: Delete your BSL event history via support@signlo.com.
  • Japan (APPI): Consent required for sensitive data (e.g., deafness status); withdraw via ASL video to support@signlo.com.
  • California (CCPA): Right to know data collected (e.g., JSL payment history), opt-out of sales (none occur).
