Signlo — Child Safety Standards

Signlo has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page is our published standard against it, as required of apps with social features, and it says exactly what we do rather than only what we forbid.

1. Signlo is for adults

You must be 18 or older to create a profile or post content. Signlo is not a dating app and must not be used to solicit minors or for any sexual contact. Accounts that misrepresent age are removed.

2. What is prohibited

Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form, real or generated, including drawings, animation, and AI-generated imagery.
Any sexualisation of a minor, including sexualised commentary on a real child, and "age-play" content presenting adults as children in a sexual context.
Grooming — building a relationship with a minor for sexual purposes — and any solicitation of a minor.
Sextortion, trafficking, or advertising, trading, or seeking any of the above, including through coded language.
Off-platform links or handles offered to move a child into a private channel.

3. How we detect it

Automated hash matching on every upload. Recorded media passes through Microsoft PhotoDNA. Only an irreversible content fingerprint of roughly one kilobyte is checked against known CSAM hashes — your video itself is never sent. A match quarantines the content immediately.
Fail-closed. If the matching service is unavailable, media does not publish. We would rather delay a post than let one through unchecked.
In-app reporting on everything. Every post, comment, profile, story, service listing and video call carries a Report option, and reports naming child safety are routed to the top of the queue.
Human review. Reports are reviewed by Signlo's own trained trust-and-safety team, not outsourced to an unvetted vendor.

4. What happens when we find it

Child-safety reports are acknowledged within 1 hour and acted on immediately, around the clock — coverage is split across two time zones precisely so that "immediately" is true at night.

The content is quarantined and the evidence preserved.
The account is removed.
A report is filed with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline. Signlo is a registered Electronic Service Provider with NCMEC (ESP #7701) and reports directly, as US federal law requires.
Where the law requires it, or where a child appears to be in immediate danger, we refer the matter to law enforcement.

Removal for CSAE is not appealable in the ordinary way, and we do not restore accounts removed on this basis.

5. Reporting to us

In the app is fastest and reaches a human reviewer directly. Use the Report option on the content or profile and choose the child-safety reason.

You can also write to support@signlo.com. Put CHILD SAFETY in the subject line so it is routed immediately. You may write in any language or send a signed video.

Do not attach the material itself. Send us the link, the username, or a description. Forwarding CSAM is itself unlawful in most countries, including where you may be.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In the United States you can also report directly to the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.

7. Compliance

We comply with applicable child-safety law in the jurisdictions where we operate, including 18 U.S.C. § 2258A (mandatory reporting to NCMEC), and we maintain the risk assessments required of user-to-user services under the UK Online Safety Act. Our practices are reviewed as the product changes, not once at launch.
